The Canadian girls' tenpin bowling team finished 9th at the World Youth Championships in Orlando, Florida.

Scarborough's Jennifer Besana was one of the four members on the girl's team.

Canada was in first place at the end of day one in the competition, but a slow start in games four and five left them 132 pins behind fourth and the final qualifying position.

Korea won gold and Japan earned silver.

Besana finished as the top Canadian in the Masters event at 3603 in 29th place.
